Job Title: Assembly Operative
Pay rate: £15.14 per hour + shift allowance

Hours: Shift

Due to an increase in workload I am looking to recruit an  additional operative for our client Cross Manufacturing, who are world leaders in the manufacture of aerospace seals, aircraft piston rings, and custom seal rings for aircraft engines, steam turbines, vehicle turbochargers, control valves and many other industrial environments.

This role is based within the Aerospace Division and would suit candidates with previous experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment, particularly those familiar with precision assembly, metal components, or aerospace-quality standards.

You will work as part of a skilled engineering team, assembling and preparing high-precision, performance-critical components used in aerospace applications. The role requires a high level of accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Precision assembly of aerospace components using bespoke machinery

  • Interpreting and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Working to strict quality, inspection, and control plan standards

  • Handling small, detailed components with accuracy and care

  • Maintaining a clean, controlled engineering environment

Experience Required:

To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience within an engineering, aerospace, or precision manufacturing setting, such as:

  • Aerospace, automotive, or precision engineering environments

  • Production or assembly of small or complex components

  • Metal preparation, fine assembly, wiring, or mechanical fitting

  • Working to tight tolerances and quality-led processes

You must be dexterous, methodical, and able to work to consistently high standards.

You must be able to commit to working a 39-hour week on double day shift pattern 6am – 2.30pm / 2.30pm – 11pm Mon – Thurs and 6am – 11am / 11am – 4pm Fridays
