The Role

As a Trials Conducting Officer, you’ll take responsibility for the planning, preparation, safe conduct and reporting of trials involving explosives, ammunition and munitions.

Working with customers, technical specialists and other stakeholders, you’ll ensure trials are properly planned, risks are assessed, equipment and resources are ready, and all activities comply with strict safety and operational requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining compliance with relevant safety, quality and regulatory standards.
  • Supervising personnel, contractors and students involved in trials and range activities.
  • Contributing to technical development, testing, research and training.

About You

You’ll bring practical experience from a military, ammunition, explosives, EOD or similarly safety-critical environment, together with the technical knowledge and judgement needed to work confidently in a demanding operational setting.

Ideally, you’ll hold a recognised ammunition or explosive ordnance disposal qualification, such as Class One Ammunition Technician or an equivalent UNMAS EOD qualification, alongside hands-on experience of firing, testing or evaluating explosives, munitions or ordnance.

You’ll also have:

  • Strong technical knowledge of ammunition systems and range procedures.
  • Experience working within a safety-critical environment.
