Accountant

The role

You will take responsibility for a varied portfolio of work, with a particular focus on audit, accounts and tax. Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering audit assignments, including budgeting, analytical review and risk assessment
• Completing full audits for a varied client base, including limited companies, charities, academies and clubs
• Supporting junior members of the team and preparing audit files for Manager review
• Preparing year-end accounts and tax returns
• Preparing VAT returns
• Reviewing straightforward accounts and tax returns
• Supporting and developing AAT trainees
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and procedures

About you

We are looking for someone who combines solid technical ability with a professional and personable approach.

You will ideally have:

• Experience delivering full audits within an accountancy practice
• Part qualified ACA or ACCA
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
• The ability to manage and prioritise your own workload
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach
• Good communication skills and the ability to build strong client relationships
• A genuine interest in developing your technical knowledge and career
• A willingness to support colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment
