CNC Machinist / Lathe Operator

Location: Calne, Wiltshire

Salary: £30,000 DOE

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00am–5:00pm | Friday, 8:00am–1:45pm

I am currently recruiting for a CNC Machinist / Lathe Operator to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Calne.

This is a great opportunity to join a friendly, supportive team within a business producing high-quality electrical and mechanical components for a range of industries, including engineering, rail, utilities, military, industrial and automotive.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of CNC machinery, producing a varied range of components to the required quality standards.

On-the-job training will be provided where needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machinery, including a HURCO TM6I Lathe and HURCO VM10I Vertical Machining Centre.
  • Manufacture a variety of components to the required specifications and quality standards.
  • Ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Follow established quality procedures and work in line with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Carry out general production duties as required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience operating CNC machinery.
  • A good understanding of manufacturing processes and quality standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, consistent work.
  • A reliable, practical approach with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a friendly, co-operative team.
