Litter Picker / Recycling Operative

Location: Compton Bassett, Wiltshire
Pay Rate: £13.00 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm
Contract: Temporary

I have been instructed to support our Client to recruit a reliable and hardworking Litter Picker / Recycling Operative to join a busy landfill and recycling centre in Compton Bassett, Wiltshire.

Starting Monday 19th October, this is an initial temporary assignment until Friday 6th November, with a strong possibility of an extension for the right candidate.

The Role

Working as part of the site team, you will help maintain a clean, safe and tidy working environment by carrying out litter picking and assisting with the sorting of waste and recyclable materials.

Duties will include:

  • Litter picking and maintaining site cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Sorting a variety of waste materials within a landfill and recycling centre.
  • Identifying and separating recyclable materials where required.
  • Supporting the site team with general duties as required.
  • Following all site health and safety procedures.

About You

  • Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Physically fit and happy undertaking hands-on, manual work.
  • Able to work accurately when sorting different waste materials.
  • A good team player with a positive attitude towards work.
  • Committed to following health and safety procedures.

Previous experience in waste management, recycling, grounds maintenance or a similar outdoor role would be beneficial but is not essential.

Working Hours & Pay

  • Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm.
  • One-hour unpaid lunch break.
  • 8 paid hours per day / 40 hours per week.
  • £13.00 per hour.
  • Initial contract until Friday 6th November, with a strong possibility of extension.
