Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Assistant
Location: Devizes
Days: 07:30 – 16:30 Monday – Thursday and 07:30 – 12:30 Fridays
Duration: Temporary 6 months (possibility to extend)
Pay Rate: £15.14 per hour

About the Role

We’re working with a world-leading manufacturing company based in Devizes, who are seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Assistant to join their established team on a 6-month temporary contract.

You’ll be responsible for planned preventative maintenance, plant installation, and day-to-day facilities support across their main site.

This is a hands-on, varied role working with production equipment, building systems, and site infrastructure to keep their operations running safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out facilities and plant maintenance to support daily production operations
  • Assist with installation and commissioning of equipment and domestic systems
  • Maintain and troubleshoot water systems, compressed air, gas, drainage, extraction units, and lifting gear
  • Support building maintenance, including internal and external structures and site grounds
  • Manage waste and recycling processes
  • Log maintenance activities and PPM updates in the SharePoint maintenance system
  • Support on-site contractors with servicing and installations
  • Promote continuous improvement, 5S, and visual workplace standards
  • Mentor apprentices and assist other departments when needed

Skills & Experience required

  • Mechanically biased with hands-on facilities maintenance experience
  • Experience with plumbing, building maintenance, and plant operations
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Legionella awareness training preferred
  • Experience operating Forklifts and MWEPs
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Flexible and willing to work outside core hours when required
