Are you an experienced draughtsperson looking for your next challenge? A well-established and respected structural steel fabrication company in the Southwest is seeking a skilled Draughtsperson to join their growing technical team.

You’ll play a key role in producing high-quality drawings and models for a range of steel structures—from portal frames to multi-storey buildings. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to take more responsibility in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment, with support to grow into more senior roles over time.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Produce accurate general arrangement and fabrication drawings for steel-framed buildings
• Model structural steelwork using CAD and 3D software (e.g. AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, Advance Steel)
• Prepare layout drawings, connection details, and fabrication packages
• Work closely with engineers, project managers, and the fabrication team to ensure smooth project delivery
• Ensure drawings comply with relevant industry standards and client requirements
• Communicate with architects, clients, and site teams where necessary
• Contribute to improving drawing processes and mentoring junior staff as you progress

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in a structural steel or fabrication drawing role
• Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, Tekla, Advance Steel)
• Good understanding of steel structures, fabrication techniques, and connection detailing
• Ability to interpret engineering calculations and specifications
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, proactive mindset
• Keen to grow into a senior draughting or technical leadership role in the future
