Due to an increase in workload, our client Cross Manufacturing are seeking a highly motivated and organised Despatch Operative to join their busy despatch department. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a range of duties, including picking customer orders, labelling, packing customer orders, and transferring finished stock.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pick customer orders accurately and efficiently
  • Adhere to customer-specific packing instructions
  • Label and Pack shipments correctly and according to customer specifications
  • Verify outgoing and incoming paperwork
  • Manage finished goods, including receipt and counting/verification and secure stock placement
  • Conduct cyclical stock checks accurately
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement activities
  • Communicate effectively with couriers and hauliers
  • Ensure all tasks are completed to instructions
  • Maintain a high level of health and safety in accordance with company policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Ability to prioritise and make quick decisions
  • Strong time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • PC knowledge, including Microsoft Dynamics 365, is desirable
  • Understanding of health and safety practices and accredited standards

The role will involve working a 39 hour working week Monday to Friday on a day shift pattern.

There will be the intention of a 12 week probation period with a review to offer permanent for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will have previous experience within a similar role, with a methodical and organised approach with the willingness to learn and adapt to various jobs within the department.
