Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper 

Marlborough (100% office based)

Monday to Friday – 09:00 – 15:00

Salary up to £20,800 depending on experience

Our client is an extremely successful and established Business whose core work area is producing detailed due diligence background reports on individuals and companies.

I have been instructed to recruit an Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper to join our client’s team on a Part Time and Permanent basis.

This position is office based so therefore you must live within commuting distance of Marlborough.

Responsibilities and Duties to include:

  • Issuing customer invoices.
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions by posting and verifying supplier and customer invoices.
  • Reconciling entries to balance customer & supplier accounts.
  • Reconciling bank and credit card statements.
  • Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns.
  • Assisting with other financial activities such as running payroll and payment of suppliers.
  • Preparing monthly management accounts.
  • Preparing financial reports by analysing and summarising accounts information.
  • Monitoring and reporting on variances against planned income and expenditure.
  • Implementing and improving our bookkeeping policies and procedures.

Are you the right person for the job?

  • We use Sage 50 so you will have detailed knowledge of this software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
